Night Light presents a series of classic and contemporary cult films from around the world. -------------------------------------------------------------- The supernova star power of Hong Kong cinema icons Maggie Cheung, Michelle Yeoh, and Anita Mui propels this gloriously unrestrained action extravaganza from genre maestro Johnnie To, which injects its martial-arts mayhem with a blast of comic-book lunacy. They are the knife-throwing, shotgun-toting, kung-fu-fighting super-heroines who must overcome their dark pasts in order to defeat an evil, baby-snatching eunuch who is terrorizing Hong Kong. Eye-popping motorcycle stunts, brain-exploding skeletons, infant cannibals, and kinetically choreographed wire work are all part of the delirium in this unstoppably entertaining cult favorite (referenced in Cheung’s international breakthrough Irma Vep), a kick-butt showcase for three of the coolest women warriors to ever hit the screen. 1993/Hong Kong/Directed by Johnnie To

Night Light presents a series of classic and contemporary cult films from around the world. -------------------------------------------------------------- From the filmmaker whom the Vatican once called “the most dangerous director in the world”, this retelling of the "Dracula's Guest" story has gained a following over the decades via its erotic flights of surreal imagery, psychedelic soundtrack, and iconic performance by Franco muse Soledad Miranda as the Countess. Ewa Stoemberg (SHE KILLED IN ECSTASY) stars as Linda, a woman with recurring dreams about a woman seducing her. When Linda’s sent to an island off the coast of Istanbul, she meets the very Countess of those dreams. After quickly falling under the woman’s spell, Linda finds she’s not the only one with an obsession for the Countess. With a thin plot to roll with, Franco creates dazzling scenes of arty softcore bliss infused with psycho-sexadelic tunes. 1971/Spain/Directed by Jess Franco
