Dolemite is a pimp who was set up by Willie Greene and the cops, who have planted drugs, stolen furs, and guns in his trunk and got him sentenced to 20 years in jail. One day, Queen B and a warden planned to get him out of Jail and get Willie Green and Mitchell busted for what they did to him. However, Dolemite is no stupid man and has a lot of warriors backing him, such as his call girls, who are Karate Experts--and lots more.... about the series: GCG's Tenets of Excess We show cult, horror, and exploitation cinema of all kinds, from all decades of cinema history and across the globe. Eastside cinema launches its by weekly program of Austins vault of music and film culture from the 80s and 90s, with a lil help from our friends.we like to look at it like going to the movies to see our generations version of Grease. Like when our parents showed us grease the movie and pointed and said… that’s what it was really like for us ! Come see what it was like… for us! Come to see an encore of our sold out presentation… Texas Archive of the Moving Image and American Genre Film Archive co-present HER DOG SATAN (1991), a vampire thriller from independent filmmaker Scott Conn that shadows the seedy underbelly of Austin's punk music scene. Filmed on location at the legendary Cannibal Club, the film features music by Austin-based musicians Pam Peltz (Living Pins, Toby Dammit, Minus Grace), Jeff Hoskins (Foot Patrol, Nice Strong Arm, The Flying Saucers), and Owen McMahon (Cherubs, Butthole Surfers, Joint Chiefs). Screening alongside rare punk shorts from Austin, as well as horror and sci-fi movies shot in Austin from the collection of American Genre Film Archive (including Mask of Sarnath (1981), which features a soundtrack by Throbbing Gristle and Invasion of the Aluminum People (1980), this event promises a night of Austin rarities you do not want to miss!

Urgh A Music war- KOOP RADIO brings Nite BEAT

The KOOP Radio Nightbeat Film Series presents: URGH! A MUSIC WAR Featuring a pre-screening DJ set, beginning at 6 p.m., by Scott Gardener of KOOP Radio's "Stronger Than Dirt." Released in 1982, this frenetic celebration of punk, rock, new wave, and reggae finds The Police, Devo, The Go-Gos, Oingo Boingo, X, The Cramps, Surf Punks, Joan Jett, Pere Ubu, Steel Pulse, and more captured in concert in all their youthful anger, exuberance, and potential. URGH! A MUSIC WAR presents more than two-dozen then-young, energetic bands making the music and moments matter in hot, crowded, amped venues scattered across L.A., London, New York City, and elsewhere. It’s live and loud. It’s urgent and proud. It’s big hair, little hair, guys, girlz—with music styles ranging from minimalist electronica to reggae to theatrical camp to mosh-worthy mayhem. It’s catchy, it’s topical, it’s angry, it’s playful, it’s live. And it lives on in a rocking, throbbing, sights-and-sounds showcase. Come for the acts you know, stay for those new to you. Presented by KOOP Radio 91.7 FM and nominated by Professor Ted of "Virtual Noise." The Nightbeat Film Series is curated by the programmers and members of the primarily volunteer-run community radio station. Each selected film reflects the format of the programmer’s show on KOOP Radio and the artists they play and is inclusive of the station’s mission to serve Austin’s diverse community.
