Welcome to the world of Minecraft, where creativity doesn’t just help you craft, it’s essential to one’s survival! Four misfits—Garrett “The Garbage Man” Garrison (Momoa), Henry (Hansen), Natalie (Myers) and Dawn (Brooks)—find themselves struggling with ordinary problems when they are suddenly pulled through a mysterious portal into the Overworld: a bizarre, cubic wonderland that thrives on imagination. To get back home, they’ll have to master this world (and protect it from evil things like Piglins and Zombies, too) while embarking on a magical quest with an unexpected, expert crafter, Steve (Black). Together, their adventure will challenge all five to be bold and to reconnect with the qualities that make each of them uniquely creative…the very skills they need to thrive back in the real world.

A Christian singer/songwriter, Jason Gray bridges the gap between inward-thinking contemporary folk and hook-minded pop, adding his own spiritual perspective to the mix. Gray emerged in the 2000s and gained wider recognition after signing to Centricity Music. He is a two-time ASCAP Performance Award winner and has scored two Top Ten Christian chart hits with “Good to Be Alive” off 2011’s A Way to See in the Dark and “With Every Act of Love” off 2014’s Love Will Have the Final Word. His fifth album, 2016’s Where the Light Gets In, peaked at number five on Billboard’s Christian Albums Chart.
Makobi and friends will be introducing songs from Africa and the African Diaspora and talking about the stories behind the songs, languages, and cultures of the various works. Sylvester Makobi hails from Nairobi, Kenya. His first professional performance engagement was as a member and soloist of the Kenyan Boys Choir, he later co-founded and was Director of the men’s a cappella group Taifa Mziki. Makobi was the 2019 recipient of the Carlton Hodge Price, which is awarded to an Indiana University doctoral student, for their commitment to excellence in African Studies, in outreach, and in other activities directed to the wider public.
